Overall, the service from beginning to end was outstanding. After finding the website, communication with Chris made the process of servicing my 23 year old IM3003 master unit a breeze. The unit was repaired promptly as originally projected. The unit was re-installed the same day it was received and it worked as new. My wife and I can now tell what we have been missing for quite some time, but our teenagers probably will not remember the system working this well. Chris was able to provide us a much needed exterior module for the patio; the original was discarded during a house remodel. In addition, we were able to rejuvenate the front door module with a new lighted button. We are very happy with the results, and would recommend using Northside for addressing your intercom challenges - Chris' approach/solution is more cost effective and timely than having to replace the entire system.

Wow -- Very fast and friendly service! Chris knew exactly what was wrong with our intercom, and turned it around very quickly. Cost was exactly what was quoted. Very pleased with the result. I was so excited to get it back in service that I added a Google ChromeCast Audio when I reinstalled it. Very happy customer.

I happened upon the Northside website while looking into alternatives for replacing my master intercom Nutone IM3003 unit. Much to my chagrin, I learned that I would probably have to replace not only the master unit, but also all the room speaker units!!! Then I found this site. Doorbell did not work. Buzzing loud all the time. Horrible loud clicking when one tried to use the intercom. Door speakers simply didn't work. Chris assured me that he could have it back to me like new. And so he did. I got it back in a very timely manner and installed it. With great trepidation, I started testing things. One by one, it became apparent that ALL the problems had been corrected. Everything worked beautifully. Great to have a doorbell again. Charges were as expected and compared to a new system, and all the holes to fit, cost, and aggravation....a real treat. Honest people. We installed a Nutone intercom / Radio IMA-406 D master along with 10 separate speakers in several rooms along with a couple on our patio in 1978. The Radio is constantly on 24 hours a day 7 days a week, so eventually it had to break down. I searched for someone who would advise me as to what Nutone system I could install to replace this old worn out unit. Well I came across this WEB site called Northside Intercom Repair, so I filled out a questionnaire regarding my particular Radio. I received a call the next day from a gentleman by the name of Chris Peters, I explained in detail what problems we were experiencing, Chris assured me that he could repair our system and have it back to us playing like new. When we received the Radio back and I reinstalled it we could not believe our ears, we don’t ever remember the Radio playing this good. Ana and I searched high and low to an alternative to replacing our Nutone door chime and intercom system.

We found Chris Peters; we disconnected our Nutone system sent it to Chris (he completely refurbished the internal components) and returned it to us. We now have Bluetooth accessible intercoms radio and door chime all working; without having to pay for a new system.

We have nothing but positive things to say about Chris at Northside.

Chris repaired my intercom IM4406. I installed it the day I received it, and it worked perfectly. It was a 1 week turn around from Georgia.
The price was just as quoted. He also cleaned the contacts on my shop speaker and it is working again also.

We had a Nutone intercom that was totally dead. I looked into replacing everything, but decided to have the master unit repaired.
I sent unit in and when I got it back and reinstalled it, everything worked great. I am so happy I had it repaired.

We found Chris and Cindy to be great people to work with. They not only did what they said they would do but went above and beyond. We want to get our system fixed before our kids came out to visit for a month and they pulled it off.
There help with removing it and packing it were easy to follow and worked great. I will not hesatate to use there services again. They are the best.

Our 30 year old Nutone IM3003 finally gave up the ghost. After some searching, I found Chris and Northside Service Company, which proved to be a great find. Not only did I receive email instructions,
but also a personal phone call from Chris to discuss the issues. The unit was sent off, and less than a week later was returned in absolutely perfect working condition, along with all the replaced parts
and an instruction sheet on the best settings and adjustments for longevity. I couldn't be more pleased.

Thanks for taking the time to trouble shot my problem with my Nutone system. The problem was solved this weekend. Someone in the family touched a button which made the radio auto turn on around noon. Per your instructions, we did not turn the system on and suddenly around noon the music started to play. You are a real master of the Nutone system, and you were kind enough to offer suggestions.

Hello Chris,

Although I received the IM3303 Intercom you repaired several weeks ago, I only got around to installing it yesterday at the insistence of my wife. Actually I hate the machine in that is lets my wife track me down too easily - but to keep the peace I installed it. I guess, unfortunate for me, the repaired unit works absolutely great and is actually better than it ever was, primarily because of that very useful sheet of set-up procedures you sent back with the unit.

Apparently, the fellow who installed the machine back in 2010, didn’t have a clue as to how to set it up and I never understood what was going on. Never was the audio so clear and the radio never sounded good. So, thank you for that, as my wife now turns on the intercom radio for music throughout the house in lieu of cranking up the power consuming TV, Satellite receiver, the living room amplifier/speaker system attached to that TV, and a TV in each of two bedrooms. WOW!!! That is a big power savings and thank you for that part of it. It is also good to have our chime doorbell back again.

Thanks again for your service - you did an absolutely great job and I am very pleased. My wife is very grateful. Me, I am still on the fence - but I guess it is better than trying to install a newer non-three wire system. Only kidding - THANKS for the effort ! ! !

We are delighted with the outstanding results! As I was browsing the internet, I almost gave up believing I would find a reputable company to help us with our issue. Then I read the information
contained on your website. I was intrigued, impressed and curious.....the journey began and ended with you.
The previous repair shop went 'belly up; literally 'took' our money and did NOT fix the unit.

The unit is now repaired, reinstalled and working like it was when initially installed. The instructions you included when you sent it back to us were very easy to follow.

I just wanted to say Thank You for Your help and Prompt Support!

I submitted a Help Request Sunday evening, May 10, 2015 for a Patio Speaker that was not working on my IMA-3033. Chris called me Monday May 11 to further discuss the problem and told me that all was needed to repair was a NuTone Patio Speaker Cone. Cindy took the order and I received the Cone Thursday May 14th. I installed the new Cone and now have a Working Patio Speaker. Other Dealers including the Dealer who sold and installed my system told me that the only solution was to purchase a new System.

We'd pretty much given up the ghost on our NuTone 3003 - nothing worked except the clock - and just barely. I called NuTone in Cincinatti and they weren't of much help or hope either. I stumbled across Chris's videos on YouTube , checked out his website, and sent in a Repair Request Form. He called me within a few hours and we spoke about details, etc.....ABSOLUTELY PROFESSIONAL CONSULT AND SERVICE . He repaired it to LIKE NEW CONDITION within 3 days as promised and EVERYTHING WORKS LIKE NEW for the first time many many years.
THE WORLD NEEDS MORE SERVICE PROFESSIONALS LIKE CHRIS & CINDY. I'll be sending his links to everyone in our subdivision. MANY MANY THANKS CHRIS! :)

Hi:

I thought I would bring you up to date on my problem with the static on the IM4006 just in case you run into the same problem. Since the schematic is useless I used the master board component diagram and the audio flow chart to trace back the static to it's source. It turns out that it originated from the cassette deck circuit board. Since we never use the deck I just disconnected it and that solved the problem. It's a good thing that I didn't recap the whole unit because it would have been a lot of work for nothing. I couldn't have done it without the service manual you provided so thank you again. Unplugging one plug sure beats spending over a thousand dollars to replace the unit and the remotes.

Hi,
Our IM3003 is just about 25 years old and was / is an original fixture of our home. Some time ago (not sure when) it simply stopped working and to the point where we could no longer hear the doorbell or music out of any speakers (main or rooms). I emailed the company and was contacted back by Chris – the phone conversation we had was amazing and for the first time, I truly felt there was hope for our intercom system. I had been searching for a replacement system but was not prepared to buy a whole new unit. Which I must say, are very expensive. Chris told me that they deal with this model quite often and was confident that it was just tired and was in need of being refurbished. Well, he was right – we got the unit back a short time ago and it works GREAT!! We even had the Ipod jack added and the kids love it. I’m so glad I found them and would recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work done. The turn-around-time was really impressive – I must say. Other companies say 6-8 weeks, Chris did it in 3 days. Woohoo!!!

I have noting but praise for Christopher and Cindy!

We bought a 20-year-old home this year and needed a way to determine whether to keep the old Nutone 3003 system or replace it with all-new remote stations and master station. After following Chris's excellent chime troubleshooting guide it was determined that our chime needed a rebuild. Chris quoted a very fair fee and within a week the system is working like new! This is the most important feature for us -- to be able to hear the doorbell while we are poolside out back. Talk about customer service and patience! These folks are saints! You can't go wrong dealing with Northside -- I just wish they had a branch office in Southern Florida. Highly recommended vendor -- the best on the Internet.

No luck w/Local Shops here in Myrtle Beach; sending it to Broan & Nu Tone only repaired partially. Then we found Northside; Chris gave us much more info & instructions than we ever had w/the original Nu Tone. We sent it to Chris in CA: we have the System back in the exact amt of time Chris promised and EVERYTHING works PROPERLY--doorbell, music, CD, room-to-room & inside to outside intercom, for the FIRST TIME. This Company's Workmanship is very difficult to find TODAY! Since we knew this was one of the best Systems & is no longer made, which Chris agreed, we were so happy that he actually had the knowledge to rebuild the Power Board! Chris not only sent us detailed step-by-step, easy to follow instructions, proper Settings, including all the trouble-shooting tips & basically how to protect & prolong the life of the System. I couldn’t be happier with the service and advice that you provided and I wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone.
Expert work, pleasant and fun people, what more could you ask for! 

I’m an Electrical Engineer and asked a lot of questions as I thought of making the repairs to my 1985 IM-3003 myself.
In the end I decided that Chris’ experience was well worth the reasonable repair price for such a thorough job.

Besides rebuilding my IM-3003 we made some upgrades to it too!
a) Added a stereo input jack to the IM-3003 that I plug my smart phone in to play music through the TAPE input.
b) Added the IA-29 Chime Module to the IM-3003 and rerouted our doorbell wires. Now we get the doorbells chiming
through our intercom system and we can choose one of about ten different chimes that can be selected on demand through
a button installed on the IM-3003

Finally we upgraded the system with Chris providing the following:
a) Replaced both doorbell buttons with new lighted buttons
b) Replaced the front doorbell paper speaker with a new plastic based one
c) Provided two additional used intercom speaker stations that I used to expand our system to the finished basement.

Finally we never realized in the 23 years that we had this house with this intercom that there was a MONITOR position that works great when the intercom work.
We now use it to monitor our grandchildren’s room when they are taking a nap. Wish we had realized we had this capability before!!!! Cool!

They did a great job packing everything. Both Chris and Cindy are fun people to talk too.
