NuTone model 478 amplifier board without SCR

Inside the area marked by the red box is where the failed SCR was mounted.  The 478 circuit board is a simple single-sided board design.  The 478 is a long lasting amplifier and itis not uncommon to find system that are 20+ years old that still work correctly.

Rebuild the 478 amplifier is a straight forward repair as long as the amplifier is not physically damaged due to exposure to weather or power surges and lightening damage.
