This NuTone IM5006 is an fairly early model, the serial number begins with #109.  This IM5006 has already been repaired 2 times and was delivered to us with the typical failed power supply problem.

The failed power supply causes the system to generate a loud, constant, pulsating noise that can't be silenced unless power is removed from the system.
