If the Selective Call IM5006 wasn't enough technology for your home, you could add Video Door-Answering and Video Surveillance to the system.
If you wanted to go "over-the-top" you could also add wireless "Home Control" to the IM5006.
The final option would be to add a CD92 Compact Disc Player to your IM5006.
The CD92 was an option that worked with every model of NuTone Radio Intercom system. The CD92 recessed into the wall along side the radio intercom master station and connected to the auxillary input.
The CD92's CD Player was a velcro attached portable CD player that was made by the Japanese company Funai. Funai was the company that built all of the NuTone Intercom equipment, so it was a good fit to source the CD players from them. The quality of the Funai made models was very high and very reliable.
There is a small mention of the CP90 Cassette Player in the 1992 catalog, paired with the IM3003 that would soon be replaced by the IM3303 in 1994
