NuTone Model 2540 failed resistors with arrows

A common point of failure are these two, 2 watt resistors.  You can see how the top resistor completely failed and crumbled into dust.

It is good practice to replace both resistors at the same time and use wire-wound ceramic resistors in place of the original carbon composition resistors.
