It is a pleasure to deal with such a reputable company. After E mailing a service request, I got a call from Chris. I explained my situation and he had the right answers. After sending in my IMA4406, I got in back promptly (Florida to California and back)
All the problems were fixed, replaced parts returned along with instructions to adjust volumes. The videos are a great help in all aspects of using the intercom system.

It was a pleasure to deal with Chris and Cindy. I now have a new appreciation of my nutone system as it never worked as well as it does now. Would highly recommend Northside service to get any Nutone system back to full operation.. They know what they are doing and how to make the customer experience as easy as possible

I contacted Chris looking for someone to repair a severely damaged NuTone IMA4406 Intercom system. From the initial telephone discussion to the directions for packing and shipping the product out for repair, Chris gave precise information and support that led to a successful outcome. He provided detailed videos on removal and packing, solid diagnosis upon receipt, and a totally repaired system(with 3.5mm audio jack upgrade) that exceeded our expectations. If you have a NuTone system, and you're looking for a dependable repair service provide; THIS IS THE GUY! Going anywhere else is an unnecessary gamble.

Thanks for the great service!

Just received repaired IM3003 and WOW! Looks new, and works great. I forgot how the doorbell sounded, it has been so long without it. Next, is to get the patio intercom working. I will be calling soon about that. Anyone looking at these comments, I can assure you will be very satisfied with this company's work. Thanks for job well done.

We have a Nutone 2541 unit with 7 remote stations and a door speaker. I installed it my self in our new house in 1971. It still worked in 2017 but it was noisy and some of the function was gone. It had a cloth grill which was stained and frayed.

I found the Northside website and sent in a request for service. Chris responded promptly and gave me a quote over the phone. I sent the master unit to California and repaired the remotes and switches using the videos Chris provided. In about a week, I got the master station back and installed it. I had a few problem with my remotes and wiring which Chris helped me solve quickly.

I now have a complete system that works very well and looks like it was new. The intercom system has been part of our house for well over forty years, and now it has new life. Thank you Northside.

What a fabulous experience! Thank you Chris and Cindy!

Our NuTone IM/A3303 was damaged due to a severe lightning strike. We thought the old (but awesome) girl was history.
Locally, the only option was an expensive upgrade, speaker stations and all.

That's when we found Northside Service Company on-line and watched a few you-tube videos.
We had so many questions and Chris seemed to have the answers. One informative video after another.

We took a chance, Chris responded quickly to an e-mail and called within days to get background on the unit.
He explained the repair process and the fees. In less than three weeks we had the old girl back and what a surprise!
It's as if the unit never had a problem. Just as clear, crisp and smooth as when we purchased it back in 1994.

We cannot express how satisfied we are! Very professional, very knowledgeable, VERY SMOOTH PROCESS.
No matter where you reside, we highly recommend Northside Service Company in California for ALL YOUR NUTONE needs.

Our heartfelt appreciation and sincere thanks for AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Fantastic service! Our IMA-4406 CD took a dive. I went online, saw the video of how to remove the master station, package it and send it off to Northside Service Company. These days there are many organizations that claim to offer customer service but fall woefully short in doing what they profess. Not so with Northside Service Company! I am completely satisfied with the work.

I moved into a home that had an intercom system that did not work at all. No doorbell, nothin'. I sent it in to Chris and he fixed it. I was so excited when I reinstalled it and it worked perfectly!! I did not think I would use my intercom as much as I do now. I use it so much. I seriously love it and use it a lot!!! The doorbell is awesome!! I am beside myself happy!!! WooHoo!!! Thank you so much!!!

Chris,

The outside unit you adapted for our Nutone door-answering intercom arrived a few days ago already. When my husband tried it, he discovered that we had a wiring problem with the inside unit. He was able to fix that, install the part you sent, and the apparatus now works great. Thank you so much for making this available and for the quick service!

We're senior citizens. Although we're still pretty capable, we might appear to be vulnerable to potential criminals. With so many home invasions due to the drug problem, I feel a lot more comfortable now that we can speak with a stranger without opening the door.

In searching for a solution to our problem, I read somewhere about someone not having the paper work that came with the original Nutone product. We have the installation instructions for the Model IK-15 and also the instructions for use in replacing that model. They include wiring diagrams. If it would be of any use to you to have copies of those, let me know to send them to you.

Thanks again to you and Cindy!

The main speaker on our circa 1993 NuTone IM3003 Master station stopped working. I found Chris's video & followed the simple instructions to remove the unit, then took it in for repair. We got a call only a few days later & picked up the unit.
After wiring it to re-install, the unit appeared dead - no power. I called Chris & he knew immediately that the transformer in our upstairs closet must be the problem. I picked up a new transformer (no extra charge), installed it and voila!
Works great! Chris knows *everything* about these old units & he provides great service - a rarity these days. Thank you Chris & Cindy!

We are very pleased with the workmanship of Northside Service Company. The system is now like new. They replaced the components that had gone out and those that are at the end of their lifespan. I looked into replacing the system, but the cost and effort needed was daunting. This process was very easy and less money. Now we have a like-new system.

They provide instructions for removing the main unit and shipping instructions. It all went smoothly.

Be sure to clean the sub-speakers. I waited until I got the main unit back before cleaning the sub-speakers. The main unit was working great, but the sub-speakers were not. After cleaning the sub-speakers according to their instructions, the entire system sounds and works like new. I was concerned that some of the sub-speakers may need to be replaced, because the sound dropped in and out. But the cleaning fixed all that. We are very satisfied with the results of the repair.

Hello Chris & Cindy.
“Finally” after doing taxes, trading off my old SUV for a new one and most importantly, taking my wife out for Valentine's Day. I reinstalled our “Renewed” door chime. It went very well and works very well. If we get another 37-38 years out of it again, that will be great. That said, my wife and I will be celebrating 48 years of marriage this August. Which means that door chime will well outlast us. Thank You again Chris and Cindy for a job well done. Tony & Sharon

PS ............. your videos are Great

Thank you very much for your help on the Nutone IMA3303. It is now working. It was speaker number 3 causing the problem. I unhooked the speaker, it was not in a place where it was greatly needed. The other speakers that are needed are working properly.

Thank you for your help. The videos are awesome.

I am now a fan of you videos.

My wife and I just bought one of the early 1960s “Swanky” houses you reference in the rebuild section for the Nutone 2057. Weirdly enough, when we were looking at the house, I was most excited about rebuilding the radio / comm and bringing it back to full serviceability. I just had a chance today to do what I expected to be a feeble and sad search for manuals and information about the unit, and lo and behold, there you have all of the information I'm looking for. So, that's the Bless You part.

I will be doing the restoration work myself. I've been an amateur radio extra class for 20 years and have fixed and built several radio projects. The down side is that after a couple of moves in the last 3 years, some of my bench gear has gone walkabout. Basic tools I have, but my oscilloscope died, as well as the frequency analyzer. Did you find you needed these tools to complete your repair? Also, did you find that there was much restoring of the satellite (i.e, different rooms' interface units) units required?

Anyway, I will leave this message with a very heartfelt well done. I had expected to have to do this “the old hard way,” with no documents or information. Instead, I find your trove of documents. And when the basic function is restored, it'll be time to add an auxiliary for my Sirius sat radio to run selectable into the 2057 master unit.

Thank you for your effort posting this information about an obsolete device that (to the best of my knowledge) nobody has ever seen work, and they all want to see it work. If you don't mind in future if/when I get stymied by something, I would very much like to contact you for your insight.

Best regards to you and yours, and a wonderful weekend.

Adam

I have an IM-3003 which was installed when the house was built in 1988. It has been slowly degrading and I had a warranty service call about 10 years ago from a local service center. A couple of months ago, in a thunderstorm there was a nearby lightning strike. The clock went blank and after a minute or two, smoke came out from behind the master unit. An internet search turned up several possible replacements ranging from $500 to over $1000. It's not worth that to us.

I found this site. Since I have an electronics background and the necessary tools, I thought (maybe hoped is more like it) I could probably fix it myself. I think Chris provides an incredible service by posting all these manuals and schematics, but that's not the half of it. I saw where he was offering advice to people so I filled out his contact form, halfway expecting to be told to pack it up and send it in. Instead he directed me to a part of the site that lists the most common problems and how to fix them. I had already figured that the probable issue was the audio amplifier chip, but Chris suggested that if the audio amplifier was bad the TTL logic chips were probably bad too. He was right. I followed his recommendations to rebuild the power supply and replaced the audio amplifier chip and the master unit is now working like new. I decided to try not replacing the TTL chips, but the intercom switching is not working right so I'll have to implement his last recommendation as well.

Chris spent a good bit of time responding to my e-mails, he called me and talked with me for around 30 minutes. When I was successful and decided I did not need to send the unit to him I asked if I could compensate him for his time. He refused to take any payment!

Incredible customer support and service for free from someone I didn't buy the unit from.

Thanks Chris!

We have a beautiful Nutone door chime that a friend gave us 30 years ago but after moving to Florida we could no longer use it. Our daughter recently built a house so we
decided to keep it in the family and have it installed there. I called a local electrician who installed it but couldn't get it to work. After searching the internet I found Northside
Service Co and Chris Peters. I gave him a call, described the problem and he said I needed a more powerful transformer so I got the correct one from him, followed his
amazing video and cleaned the unit and called the electrician back. He installed the new transformer and still could not get the unit to work because he replaced screws in the
board causing damage to it. I sent the unit to Chris and he fixed it better than new! I was not going to call that electrician again but I did call Chris and he stayed on
the phone with me and took me through the connection step by step. Now it sounds absolutely beautiful and will remain in our family for many more years. There are not
many companies out there who take such concern with their customers and pride and knowledge in their work. He is a master at his craft as well as a nice person.
I just can't say thank you enough, Chris & Cindy.

We are restoring an 1891 Victorian style home. It had many 60's 70's updates ..........Drop Ceilings........Paneling.........shag carpet but there was a prize. There was a 1963 model L42 Nu Tone Supreme door chime. We initially removed it removed it because it did not work so we put it away thinking we would eliminate it. We were told by a high end light shop that has been in business for 100 years about it & the owner told us to have it serviced and put it back up!! So I found Chris on you tube & subsequently sent him the base to clean and free up the plungers. It is hanging back on the wall from where we removed it and it is a centerpiece to our restoration project. It sounds amazing!! Like everyone else...........We highly recommend Chris and Cindy Peters of Northside Service Company!! & with much gratitude thank them for the wonderful service they provide.

After 27 years and two lightning strikes my IM3003 intercom was in bad shape. Chris repaired the unit quickly and it works perfectly. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and everything related to the process. The videos included on the website were very informative and allowed me to return all remote units to service. We have all had negative experiences with this type repair but everything from my initial contact through the website to Chris's telephone call to confirm what was needed, cost and all details was very thorough and done in a professional manner. I wish other companies in the service and repair business would use Chris, Cindy and Northside Service Company as an example of how to communicate with the customer and how to provide proper service for the cost.

What a great job on my NuTone IM3003 Master station rebuild - thank you Chris! My system hasn't worked for 17 years since we moved into our home, and now that I'm retired, I'm going around the house looking tor projects that need addressing - this NuTone system was a "thorn in my side" and now it's really working well. I just can't believe I waited that long to find you guys and send it to you. Thanks also for the post-rebuild customer service in answering my questions. I had no idea that the prior owner mis-matched a two button remote station with the other three button remote stations for the IM3003 - no wonder it didn't function, but thanks once again to you for finding a used matching three button station I could purchase to replace the incorrect two button station! Sure beats having a hole in the wall to stare at. I also love all your videos - they are extremelly helpful and informative. I even watched videos that didn't even pertain to products I own for the instructions' sake - quite mesmerizing I must say! Hope you and your family have a blessed New Year, and keep up the great customer service!
