NuTone IM4006 power supply amplifier PCB

Mounted under the bracket you will find the Power Supply/Amplifier circuit board.  This is the cause of most IM4006 failures.  Just like all older NuTone Intercom masters, the power supply fails causing a loud buzzing on the entire system.  If this is not repaired in a reasonable amount of time the failure will cause further damage to the system.
