I needed to get a bad HUM out of my NuTone IM3003 intercom. Chris worked very hard to get me a system that worked.

They were very curious, professional, sent back the unit with GREAT instructions on how best to use the system.

I highly recommend using them for service anytime.

Your service of my IM4006 nutone intercom and a new doorbell button was great. I used the videos of removal of intercom, lubrication of of all the 9 room speaker units, replacement of the doorbell button, adjustment of doorbell volume. These are the best instructional videos I have ever seen anywhere for anything. It made each process simple. The lubricants you suggested for the room speaker units worked perfectly, better than when they were new! I congratulate you on filling a great need with such great service, parts and information, even responding to my email questions in an extremely timely fashion.

Chris,

You are the only one I could find that was willing to repair a 48 year old Nutone Master Intercom unit. Not only did you do an excellent repair job but you kept your word as to its cost and delivery time. Your instruction on cleaning the speaker connections were clear and make a big difference in performance. In this day and age such honesty and reliability are hard to come by. It was a pleasure to deal with such an upstanding man. I wish you much continued success.

Hi Chris and Cindy,

Just wanting to follow-up to say you are indeed a life saver. Nice touch on the pack of life saver when you mailed the master station back. Once I returned from my trip, I re-installed the unit that my husband Doug had brought to you for that one wire, and everything works like a charm. AM radio isn’t so good but reception everywhere with AM is failing these days. Everything is working wonderfully.

Thank you also for the pink page that explains with volume settings – this is NOT in the manual which I do have!

Once again thanks for much for your help and patience during the trouble shooting process and finally for fixing our master station!

I recently had a Nutone IM5006 and IS515/IS518 speakers repaired by Chris @ Northside Service Co. The system had not functioned in over 10 years. Due to his expertise, I now have a working system. Our NuTone intercom seemed to be losing its mind-- it would stop working and randomly drop the time or display a time of 1:00. I found Chris's website and gave him a call. He took meticulous notes about the problem and had us send the intercom to him for repair. Of course, it worked perfectly when he received it. He talked with me about replacing some components, made the repairs, and sent it back, including the old parts he had removed. It worked for a few hours, and began demonstrating the same symptoms. As an electronic technician, I know that intermittent problems are much harder to resolve than repairing a dead piece of equipment.
We returned the unit to Northside, and Chris even offered to pay return shipping. Our Nutone became a challenge to him, and he kept trying to find a solution. During this time, he stayed in contact with me, explaining what he was doing, and making sure that I was agreeable to the repairs. He ended up replacing parts of the CPU unit, and the intercom has worked perfectly since. I would highly recommend Northside Service Company. Chris is very competent and professional, and takes excellent care of his customers.

You guys did a marvelous job! My IMA4006 was fixed and returned to me ... and I had a problem with the doorbell ... then another failure. Chris worked with me via email and over the phone to troubleshoot
and attempt to repair the unit. After a few iterations, Chris said to ship the unit back (at his cost) ... he fixed it (at his cost of course), and shipped it back.

I reinstalled it and all is fine!

The NuTone 3003 arrived this afternoon. I installed it and reset the system adjustments per your note.

I am thrilled at what you did for me. This is awesome. The front door bell works as well.

Your service is outstanding. I loved watching your videos. Your explanations are clear and easy to follow. Again, I am over the moon with what you did for me.

As well, the quick turn around means that when the real estate brokers come in to tour my house tomorrow, I can have music playing and they won't be looking at a hole in the wall.

I would like to thank Chis on his great job of repairing my nutone intercom. From the minute I contacted this company it has been nothing but great professional attitude. I have been an electrician for 35yrs and have installed many nutone intercoms. my unit was 25yrs old and had quit working. After contacting submitting the repair form chris called back right away and 3 weeks later my unit is back and working great. Thank you so much.

I have a 25 year old NuTone IM3003 intercom system that had been degrading in performance over the last ten years or so to the point where is was pretty much useless. I checked with NuTone and they didn't have any service centers anywhere near me so I checked the web and found this site. I filled out a Repair Request Form and Chris contacted me by phone later that day. He listened to my symptoms and gave me some suggestions to try. After a few more communications with Chris, it was determined my master station needed to be rebuilt. I sent it in and had it back in two weeks (he also sent me a new speaker cone and push button for my Door Speaker). With the rebuilt master station and cleaning the remote stations per Chris' video on how to do so, my intercom system is like new again. Northside is top-notch organization and I'm glad I came across it.

Unpacked the repaired unit today and reinstalled it, and it works perfectly. Your instructions about adjusting the system after reinstalling the master were spot-on. Wonder why such straightforward and useful instructions didn't come with the unit when it was new? Your troubleshooting instructions, and the very helpful videos on your website made the whole process easy. I can truthfully say that your work has been the best service I can ever recall receiving from an appliance repair person.
